Qld resolves biggest Native Title claim

The largest Native Title claim in Queensland has been determined, covering 1.73 million hectares of Gulf country. After an initial claim made 11 years ago the Federal Court has found that the Waanyi are the traditional owners. The decision has been welcomed by the MMG Century Mine which helped the Waanyi in their efforts to have their Native Title rights recognised.
